Every IDI report records the grading of a laboratory-grown diamond, carries a unique report number and QR code, and can be verified online at any time.
Scan the QR code on your report, or enter the verification code printed beneath it.

Each diamond is examined by an independent diamond grading laboratory in Johannesburg, South Africa, which records its shape, carat weight, colour, clarity, cut, measurements and other characteristics.
The laboratory's findings are presented in an IDI report with a unique report number, verification code and QR code. The same details are kept on IDI's secure record.
Anyone holding the report can scan the QR code to see the official record. If a report has been cancelled or replaced, the verification page says so clearly.
Diamonds are described using internationally recognised grading terms. Here is what each part of your report tells you.
The outline of the diamond and its facet arrangement, such as round brilliant, oval, pear, emerald or cushion.
The diamond's weight. One carat equals 0.20 grams, recorded to two decimal places.
How colourless the diamond is, on a scale from D (colourless) towards Z (light yellow).
The presence of tiny internal or surface characteristics, assessed under 10× magnification.
How well a round brilliant's proportions and finish return light, from Excellent to Poor.
The quality of the surface finish and how precisely the facets are shaped and aligned.
Whether the diamond glows under ultraviolet light, from None to Very Strong.
The diamond's dimensions in millimetres, with table and depth percentages, crown and pavilion angles, girdle and culet.
A precision grown diamond is a laboratory-grown diamond. It is real diamond, with the same chemical, physical and optical properties as a diamond formed in the earth, but it is created using advanced technology in a controlled environment rather than mined.
Every IDI report is issued for a laboratory-grown diamond and says so. We believe buyers should always know exactly what they are buying.
An IDI report lets you show your customer independent grading information and a live verification record, straight from their phone.

The team behind IDI has spent more than two decades in the diamond and jewellery trade, buying, selling and working with natural diamonds and, more recently, laboratory-grown diamonds.
Over that time we have built deep, hands-on expertise in every part of the business: sourcing and assessing rough and polished diamonds, matching stones, manufacturing fine jewellery, and supplying the trade. That experience is what IDI brings to every report.
We source diamonds from the world's major trading centres, including Mumbai, New York, Tel Aviv and Dubai, and work with long-standing suppliers and partners we know and trust.
Today we supply both local and international clients, from private buyers to jewellers and retailers, and we understand what each of them needs: accurate information, clear disclosure and someone who stands behind the stone.
IDI was created to give our clients exactly that. Every diamond is graded by an independent laboratory, every report is clearly identified as laboratory-grown, and every report can be checked online at any time.

Grading is carried out by an independent diamond grading laboratory in Johannesburg, South Africa. IDI presents the laboratory's findings in the IDI report and keeps the verification record.
Yes. It is real diamond with the same chemical, physical and optical properties as a mined diamond. It is grown in a laboratory, and IDI reports always state this.
Scan the QR code or enter the verification code on this website. The details shown should match your printed report and your diamond. If they don't, or no report is found, please contact us.
"Void" means the report has been cancelled and should not be relied upon. "Superseded" means the diamond was re-graded and a newer report replaces this one.
No. An IDI report describes the diamond's characteristics. It does not state a price or value and is not an insurance valuation.
Compare the shape, carat weight and measurements with your diamond. If the report lists a laser inscription, a jeweller can confirm it on the diamond's girdle using a loupe.
